Our Location

Forge Flightworks, formerly known as Carpenter Avionics, is located in the greater Nashville area at the Smyrna / Rutherford County Airport (KMQY), the busiest general aviation airport in Tennessee, and third-busiest airport overall in the state. This places Forge Flightworks within 600 miles of 80% of the U.S. population – likely within easy reach for you whether flying or driving. Please let us know how we can help improve your aircraft.

Flying Here

You’ll enjoy flying into and out of the Smyrna Airport. With two long, well-lit runways – 8,048’ and 5,546’ – ample approach options, friendly ATC and extensive ramp / taxi space, KMQY is ideal for general aviation traffic.

Not yet ADS-B Equipped?  Please note, that KMQY is near the ADS-B Rule Airspace of Nashville International Airport (KBNA).  Please see the FAA’s ADAPT program website to learn more about how you can request authorization from the FAA to fly your non-ADS-B equipped aircraft in ADS-B Rule Airspace.

Once on the ground, you will find Forge Flightworks on the Southeast corner of the airport just off taxiway Foxtrot. Please see the airport diagram below. From our facilities, you’re two to five minutes from a variety of dining and shopping options and about 20 minutes to downtown Nashville and all that Music City has to offer.

Driving Here

With three Interstates crisscrossing our area, we’re easy to reach from any direction. We’re located in the southeast Nashville metro area. Forge Flightworks is just four miles north of I-24 via Sam Ridley Parkway.

IMPORTANT: maps on many vehicle GPS receivers, portable GPS devices and even mapping websites will display Forge’s address on Fitzhugh Boulevard in the incorrect position. These maps tend to point users toward the North side of the airport, which is incorrect. Our main location is actually on the southeast corner of the airport, as you’ll see on our map below and on our markup of the KMQY Airport Diagram.
